Hello leader, my old friend. I'm just here to remind you that you're not alone.

In fact, your aloneness is growing less by the minute.

Madonna was right when she said we are living in a material world. At least she was half right. We all want to earn a living or create wealth in order to feed our family, pay our mortgages, buy that car or latest Amazon gadget. So yes Madz, half of our life is material.

And yet, we also yearn for something more. Something that is not of the material and leans more towards the spiritual. These thoughts make us doubt ourselves and we find that's we are hesitant to share this half with others.

Which leave us feeling lonely. Even a bit silly, and certainly weird.

We think to ourselves 'those who are successful, ahead of us, above us must surely never think like this. There's no way I could talk about this at an industry networking event. We feel lost and unable to find the words or ways to make sense of a world that is non-material, more ancestral, organic and even ethereal. Dare I say it, in the woo woo.

I know how you feel.

I feel it too. Every day. Especially when I'm at my home, here in the bush in the Aussie valley and mountains. I feel it because it's all around me. I can't escape it.

The reality is that I straddle two worlds - I have had a great career supporting leaders to grow themselves and build thriving company cultures in the material in cities.

And I have had incredible, mystical, transcendent experiences in the spiritual in the remote. Vivid, mind and heart expanding, unexplainable experiences!

From India to Indonesia to the Flinders Ranges, to my own backyard I have experienced synchronicities, visions, awakenings and ceremonies with elders of all races and spiritual backgrounds. And I have loved it and been challenged by it.

What about you? Are you a seeker, a dreamer, a leader? Are you also someone who dreams of a global future that is so much better. A future that brings the wisdom of the old with the smarts of the now? A future we can all be part of and where both sides can coexist...

'Whoa AJ, steady on woman,' you may be thinking….

'Or it's OK for you now you're more established in your career and you work for yourself but I could never, my boss would think, there's no place for this in my industry.'

Perhaps.

But what if it was possible?

What then?

Aren't you tired of holding the tension of keeping your two worlds apart?

Don't you feel like one of those worlds has lost its way and the other isn't grounded enough?

It’s hard to explore what could be when your head is full of the ‘no’s’ and the ‘that’ll never be accepted.'

It’s a struggle to stand up for yourself, for what you believe, for what you feel deeply, for what you KNOW in your soul. For what makes your heart and head nod yes, even when your words say no.

It's hard to express a dream of a future where people of all backgrounds are walking right way. Walking together, with each other, with the planet, the environment and all sentient beings. Walking towards a more integrated, spiritual and material, earthly and ethereal, a more inclusive, sense making, balanced and humane world.

I'd rather hang out with those who don't judge, don't scorn, and are non-adjusted to the craziness of the world.

And if you're still scared or uncertain, do what I do whenever I need some support, head out into nature, go for a bushwalk, head to the lake or the beach. Turn your face towards the sun and plop your feet on the ground. Hum, chant or sing until the sound fills your cup back up.

You're not mad or crazy.

You're not different.

You're not old and out of touch.

You're just integrated, whole.

I see you. I feel you. I want to know you.

Our world needs you. Your eldership and your service.

We're all waiting for you to step into your full essence. Bring your business know how and your spiritual curiosity. Come sit by the sacred fire with us and dream of a new future.
